I am very interested in the male initiation as well! Personally, I was raised with out a father for most of my life. I am now raising 2 wonderful boys and they are looking to me for the things that John Eldredge talks about in the 2 books mentioned be Mr.Wimberly. I use the website, Church For Men a lot! It has a lot of resourses and links, however, I am looking for more step by step instruction to do right now with my boys. They are 6 and 10 and I can't afford to wait until they are 12! Anyone know of actual steps to get us to the point of the initiation?

I heard Dr. Haynes speak at a Grief Dinner at First Baptist Houston. His sacrifce and that of his wife in spending a whole year at Ground Zero shows they are doing God's work. I don't know what "business problem" or "broken promises" you could have had with them. I wish you had been specific. Were you expecting him to find you a job in this field and were disappointed? Did you give them a chance to resolve your misunderstanding? I would be shocked to discover that they were dishonest in any way. As for me, I used to be a FEMA Housing Inspector and I have seen so much pain, in the workers who flood in help disaster victims and the victims themselves. I know that this ministry is good from personal experience.
I was an encourager who suddenly found myself faced with a murdered family member and needed crisis counseling myself, I turned to them.

I hope you will have forgiveness and peace about your problem.

Mr. Wimberly,

I too am interested in male initiation as it pertains to mens' spirit. I am interested to know what research you have found relevant in the secular world, apart from what Mr. Eldridge and Mr. Rohr. I was blown away by Eldridge's "Wild at Heart" and am currently reading "The Way of the Wild Heart." Both are equally impressive works. I am currently in a ministry which helps men who are struggling with all forms of addiction/hurts (Celebrate Recovery) and this material is extremely relevant. I would appreciate any references you could give me!

Your site shows a great deal of support for FBCTI. I and others have had problems with this organization (See Better Bussiness Bureau). Did you do any investigating of FBCTI? Can you tell me where Dr. Haynes completed his degree? Dr. Haynes has not responded to my request for that information.

Thanks,

Gary

I noticed that you support Faith Based Counselor Training Institute (FBCTI). I would like to let you know that my experience with FBCTI has been extremely disappointing. They have not kept to their agreement . I have found that others have had problems with FBCTI also, check the Better Bussiness Bureau site. I hope that you will reconsider your bussiness relationship with FBCTI.

Thanks,
